Fall Equinox Horoscopes
This season brings us the final days of Pluto in Capricorn, where it has been bringing themes of transformation, death and rebirth to the Capricorn areas of our charts since 2008. Pluto will exit Capricorn forever (at least in our lifetimes) in November. As Pluto has been dancing between the late degrees of Capricorn and early degrees of Aquarius for the past year or so, we may have been feeling the tension of changes rumbling both within us and around us. This experience may have demanded our attention and commitment to transformation and inner and outer growth.
Sept 22, 2024 - Dec 21, 2024
The Sun has entered the Cardinal Air sign of Libra, marking the Autumnal Equinox. In Tarot, the 2 of Swords represents the first decan of Libra and therefore, the beginning of fall. The 2 Swords carries the energy of Cardinal Air. Cardinal energy initiates and the element of Air is active, mental and communicative. The 2 of Swords recognizes the feeling of being at a crossroads and on the precipice of great change. Transitions can sometimes feel overwhelming and disorienting. We may be considering new options and next steps, while also being required to let go of the past. It can be a lot to juggle, and our hands feel full. We can feel paralyzed with doubt as we enter a new phase. Unsure of what to do or how to be.
This season brings us the final days of Pluto in Capricorn, where the planet has been bringing themes of transformation, death and rebirth to the Capricorn areas of our charts since 2008. Pluto will exit Capricorn forever (at least in our lifetimes) in November, and as Pluto has been dancing between the late degrees of Capricorn and early degrees of Aquarius for the past year or so, we may have been feeling the tension of being pulled in different directions; mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The pressure has been building, and this is is the season where something has to give.
As we enter autumn, we are in the thick of eclipse season. We have a solar eclipse in Libra on October 2nd. A solar eclipse is like a super charged new moon. Through this lunation, a portal of change is presenting itself to us. Eclipse seasons can mark times in our lives with major shifts, beginnings and endings. Then, on November 15th Pluto makes its final exit from Capricorn and enters Aquarius, ushering in a new karmic 20 year cycle that none of us have lived through before. We are on the verge of great collective and individual transformation, and in order to make room for new growth, some things have to die. This awareness is becoming activated within us. Can you feel it?
The houses in your natal chart that are ruled by Capricorn, Aquarius and Libra are calling for your attention this season. Awareness is key, so I am offering special horoscopes for the fall that merge the life areas that will be activated for your sign.

Fall Equinox Horoscopes
Aries
This season will confirm that a lot of steps you have taken over the past several years are getting you to where you need to be. Through forging your own path, you now have a clearer idea of how your gifts can be used to benefit the greater good. You are ready to reap the rewards that come with focusing on building community. Lessons connected to your authenticity and being seen may have changed your outlook on the future by inspiring you to have aspirations that are greater than yourself. This fall can bring in new connections and relationships that bring you a greater awareness of who you are. Through friends or lovers you may greet your shadow and find new ways to heal old wounds. However, have no fear and remember that relationships are containers for healing. You are never late in your process, but right on time.
Taurus
As this fall begins, a major shift in perspective could have you feeling ungrounded, disoriented or confused. Old goals and aspirations may no longer resonate with you now that your world view has evolved beyond your formally limited scope of understanding. You are being called to take this new mindset and carve out a more meaningful life direction. While we all have to live in the material world and sustain ourselves, you may feel that there is more to life than acquiring the fruits of your labor. Maybe you are now on top of the mountain and looking around with new eyes, and realizing that the ways in which you engage in your world building is in need of a change. This season, remember that it's ok to retreat and go inward as you integrate your new self-awareness into how you live your life. You have survived a lot, and as you have changed you need to get to know your new self uninterrupted, and away from old distractions.
Gemini
As fall begins, you may feel like you are emerging from a deeply transformative phase that could have you feeling like a brand new person. This is a time of rebirth and you need time to adjust to being the new you, as well as space to release your former self. As you are shedding your old skin, you may be feeling a need to emerge from the depths. A period of loss may have changed you, and you may have found yourself grieving the broken promise of the life you thought you would live. This season, you may start to feel more in alignment with where you have wound up and take the first steps onto a new path of acceptance. You have learned a lot and you are wiser for it. Finding new opportunities for tapping into your creativity and sharing who you are with the world awaits you this season. This rebirth is setting you up to bring more joy into your life and now is the time to embrace and express your authentic self.
Cancer
Who you are in your closest relationships has been a theme that has been front and center in your life for some time. Over the past few years, you may have solidified bonds that are more in alignment with who you truly are, and conversely, you may have experienced the loss of connections that were holding you back or not right for you. These experiences may have caused pain or activated old wounds that require deep healing. You are now ready to prioritize existing relationships that help you to feel safe and secure, and through establishing this foundation, you can get to the core of who you really are and what matters most to you in this life. This fall is a great time to dig deeper with therapy or uncover your gifts through engaging with metaphysical tools that can help you unravel your many layers and heal from past trauma. Your focus this season is to turn inward so that you find the sense of stability you may be seeking within yourself.
Leo
As this season begins to unfold, daily life may look very different than it did a few years ago. These past couple of decades, you have been tasked with understanding how powerful you are. You may have broken unhealthy habits, or even generational curses. You have learned that you can do anything that you set your mind to. Tapping into our greatness can sometimes feel like a burden as we move through seasons of intense transformation and change. When things fall apart, you have realized that no one is going to save you but yourself. Through the pain, life has empowered you to prepare for stepping into situations where you feel ok taking control. Communication is key, and you now have the confidence to be direct with your needs so that you can root into your new reality with a stable mind and clearer perspective. This season, enjoy peace of mind as a reward for a job well done.
Virgo
As fall begins, you may be focusing on your creative process or prioritizing experiencing pleasure and love. Over the past few years, you have found healing through surrendering to what brings you a sense of joy and happiness. If you have been fighting your inner critic, the battle must be won by the parts of yourself that hold no judgment. You are now ready to approach the day to day with more awareness of what gives you satisfaction and fills your cup. Your tendency to burn the candle at both ends is one way to take you out of the present moment, and you realize that this no longer serves you. Engaging with play or tapping into your inner child or teenager may be the medicine this season if you have been experiencing burnout or blockages. This season wants you to prepare to welcome in abundance, and is helping to lead you to a sense of gratitude for what you already have and use those resources to find the fulfillment you are looking for.
Libra
You enter this new season with a stronger foundation than you may have felt you had in years. Recent changes in your private or family life may have rocked you to your core and almost knocked you off course. As a result, you could have had to completely rebuild a sense of stability and security from within, and now you are starting to feel this manifest in the outside world. Through these transitions, your extreme power and resilience has been revealed and these inner qualities are helping to prepare you for an era where you will tap into your creative potential and make an impact on the world around you with your gifts. You have a lot of love to give, and you will be able to just that when you remember that you also need to receive it in return. The balance you seek is in reciprocity, but who you are is not defined by anyone but you. This season may require solitude to regroup as you gain an understanding of who you are on your own, so you can authentically share that with others and change the world.
Scorpio
The past several years may have forced you to transform your life through sheer will and perseverance, and now this season is calling you to take time for rest and regrouping. Transforming what family and homelife mean to you will be on the agenda, and accepting that you may have to innovate or put a unique spin on tradition will be necessary in feeling fulfilled or taken care of. You like to have a tight grip on who and what you hold dear, but karmic lessons have been telling you that sometimes it is necessary to let go. Pay attention to your dreams and intuition this season, as valuable information and downloads are waiting for you to hone in on them for guidance. Getting in touch with your ancestral gifts by building an altar or tapping into your creativity by creating art or poetry that is just for you will help you access your unconscious mind and spirit that has so much to offer you in this moment. Your sense of empowerment this season will come from within, and may not be witnessed by anyone but you.
Sagittarius
Your relationship to what you value has undergone a significant transformation over the past several years. Abundance may not mean what it used to, and you may have a new relationship to the material fruits of your labor by not having them define your self worth or who you are. Losses in the material or spiritual realms may have forced you to tap into your personal power, and now you are taking your gifts and resources to build a new sense of awareness in your everyday life. This fall, explore your city, neighborhood or immediate surroundings as if you were looking through someone else’s eyes. There is magic in the mundane and transformative experiences await you when you remember to take in the beauty of everyday life. Be open to new people and experiences that offer opportunities for a renewed perspective. You may find fated encounters that bring you more in alignment with your destined path right outside your door. This season is one that encourages you to be open and explore.
Capricorn
This season confirms how far you have come on your journey of healing and self-discovery. Not too long ago you may have longed for a different life, but having undergone a complete transformation of what guides and motivates you has shown you new ways to see your value. You require reciprocity in relationships and are now willing to advocate for it. You are creating something special in this life, and you need co-creators in your world building that match your energy. You are being called to share your gifts with the world, and this fall may find you hunkering down in preparation for making major moves. No one understands more than you that with great talent comes great responsibility, and through surviving past trials and tribulations you understand your assignment in this life more clearly. You are now establishing your legacy with confidence, control and a greater sense of who you are. As a result, you are priming yourself to step out and be seen in ways that may have struck fear in your heart before.
Aquarius
This season you are starting a rebirth. The last remnants of psychic debris and generational curses are being shaken off as you begin to embody a new way of being that is more empowering and life affirming. You may have been through some dark times over the past several years, but you have survived. However, since you have become acquainted with the darkness, the light may actually be disorienting or frightening to face. But you now understand that being accustomed to chaos is not an option, and it is now time for order. You are stepping into a calling to do great things, and not just for yourself or your own ego, but for the greater good. Your mind is expanding and you may feel a need to create a greater role for spirituality in your life as a grounding force. This fall, you may feel inspired by deepening your esoteric studies, finding a community of worship that resonates, connecting with ancestral knowledge, meditating or even by just touching grass and understanding you are one with nature can offer much needed breakthroughs.
Pisces
With recent trials and tribulations that others may have bore witness to, you may have been confronted with how you are perceived. This may have activated old wounds from the past, or even past lives, that could have you questioning everything. This fall, focus on going inward and understanding yourself better. Remember that public perception is not an actual reflection of who you are. Through tapping into your creative and healing gifts this season, you will find that a new phase of development is on the horizon. Solitude will help you unravel what unconscious patterns have you stuck in loops that you are finding take you nowhere. While other people and relationships can provide a valuable mirror, they are not the only ways in which we can see ourselves. This season asks you to trust yourself more than you trust others, especially when it comes to finding a meaningful path forward that resonates with the real you.

This new season brings us the usual shifts, transitions, and opportunities for releasing and manifestation that the “astroweather” always provides. When the Sun enters the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer, it marks the Summer Solstice. In Tarot, the 2 of Cups represents the first decan of Cancer and therefore, the Summer Solstice. The 2 of Cups carries the energy of Cardinal Water. Cardinal energy initiates, and Water energy is receptive and flowing.
This new season brings us the usual shifts, transitions, and opportunities for releasing and manifestation that the “astroweather” always provides. However, there are two areas of the sky that should capture your attention, because this summer finds the Zodiacal archetypes of Capricorn and Pisces working together to help inspire us in new directions.
The Two of Cups symbolizes the Summer Solstice and the joining of forces.
As summer begins, we have two rare full moons in Capricorn, as well as Pluto re-entering Capricorn. The first full moon is at 1° of Capricorn just after the Solstice, initiating us to themes, past or present, that we are meant to work through this season. Pay attention to what is happening around you, and within you at this time. The second full moon is at 29° (the final degree) of Capricorn. This is a potent degree that was activated last summer when the nodes of the moon (where we experience the eclipses) squared Pluto at 29° of Capricorn. You may be approaching the end of a karmic journey or significant transformation, especially if you have planets or angles at or near 29° of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, & Capricorn). And in September, just before the Fall Equinox, retrograde Pluto will re-enter Capricorn and stay at 29° until it stations direct in October, and leaves Capricorn for the rest of our lifetime in November.
So what does this all mean? The Capricorn houses in our charts are going through a final phase of transformation, which is now the rebuilding phase. The archetype of Capricorn centers goals and accomplishment, but what motivates us may be changing. Perhaps we are experiencing the dust settling after a significant period of inner or outer turmoil, and as a result we may finally feel grounded and powerful enough to start over and walk the new path that lay before us. If we have released what is no longer serving us, our path is clearer to navigate. However, if we are still clinging to things that we should let go of, then we will still experience loss in some form but it may feel out of our control. Plutonic transformation makes us face our fears in order to step into our personal power.
This summer also brings Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces, as well as our first eclipse in Pisces since 2017, just before the fall Equinox. Think back to 2015-2017, and what throughline you may be able to find that helps to shape the narrative that is unfolding in the Pisces area of your chart. As we have been experiencing Saturn in Pisces since March 2023, we may be in the process of finally bringing form to something that is emerging from the depths. We could also feel like we are sacrificing something in order to grow in the direction that our intuition is guiding us. Either way, it’s not an easy process.
Pisces is an archetype that brings duality into our consciousness. This summer you could face having to make a decision that accompanies a crisis of faith. Resist the urge to surrender to self sabotage or escapism as a comfort. The Saturn and Neptune retrogrades will bring us back to reality, and help us stay grounded as we work through some of the residue that is still clinging to us from past experiences, and in Pisces, even in past lives. This may be a season when soul contracts are fulfilled and our focus and attention can now shift to the future. The partial lunar eclipse in Pisces can give us clues as to what still needs to be worked out.
The traditional markers that determine our sense of success may need to change, since Saturn in Pisces is helping us to see new ways to structure our reality. The rewards of working hard may shift from the material and tangible, to a sense of inner peace or satisfaction. The fruits of our labor may be ripening on a different tree, which is why we may be feeling the need to walk a new path. As we are understanding that so much of “reality” isn’t real, finding our place in the world can be confusing as we are experiencing so much uncertainty and collective grief.
The houses in your natal chart that are ruled by Capricorn and Pisces are asking for your attention. Capricorn and Pisces offer a beneficial aspect, called a sextile, to one another since their elements are complimentary (Earth & Water). The Capricorn and Pisces houses in your chart are assisting each other in guiding you to where you need to be. Awareness is key, so I am offering special horoscopes this season that merge the life areas that will be activated for your sign.

Summer Solstice Horoscopes
Aries
Long term plans may have been thrown off course or completely derailed in the past year, resulting in you finding yourself in a entirely new place as this season begins. Or you may feel like an old part of yourself has died, and you are wondering how to begin again. You could be questioning not just where you are now, but also who you are. Going deep beneath the surface and unraveling the unconscious web of ways that you can get in your own way, and unpacking how those patterns originated and had you tangled, is a good use of your time this summer. Prioritize spending time with people that are willing to go deep with you. Start healing work on your own or seek a guide. Pay attention to your dreams and intuition to get back to the core of who you are through inner knowing, and you’ll find your way.
Taurus
You may have recently experienced a crisis of faith that could have you questioning everything. You might be grappling with a shifting perspective that feels uncomfortable to face, but avoidance will only promise more discomfort, confusion, or hurt. The people who you currently find yourself in alignment with can give you valuable insights on how you want to prioritize your peace. Don’t be afraid to let go if hanging on doesn’t feel right. This summer, you may also be confronted with the reality of what it takes to achieve your goals and aspirations through experiencing limitations in your current approach to getting what you want. Remember that these are opportunities to think creatively and empower yourself through taking a new course of action, especially if what you want to do is retreat.
Gemini
You may be feeling an increased need for solitude to help you process how much you’ve changed since experiencing some form of loss. This can be grieving a dream career, a past version of yourself, a project, a relationship, or even a place that you used to live. Rebuilding will require trusting not only the process, but also other people. Merging with others can be scary, but as you are being tested know that the lesson is that you cannot, and should not, do it all on your own. This summer, dip your toes into the waters of co-creation by sharing ideas, resources, drive and energy with those around you to help breathe new life into your world building.
Cancer
You may find that soul contracts are ending, and with that awareness you may be entering the new season feeling lighter and more focused on your own needs than the needs of others. You may be feeling empowered by prioritizing yourself for once, and practicing new boundaries that protect your energy is the medicine you need this season. Expanding your mind through travel, spiritual experiences, or even learning something new will help provide much needed inspiration for new directions of growth as you are navigating the world with a more stable and secure sense of self. Clearing out old connections to make way for new ones will be essential this summer.
Leo
Transforming how you take care of your physical and mental health has been a long but rewarding journey. These changes may have you tapping into your willpower and therefore, your personal power. If you have not been adjusting your regular habits to prioritize wellness, know that it is never too late. This summer, you may experience tests and triggers that tempt you to revert back to old ways of coping that no longer serve you if you do not stay mindful. Grounding yourself in routines and rituals that bring you back to yourself will help you stay productive and centered as you manifest abundance this season. Understanding who you are helps you forge healthier relationships that are more in alignment with your personal evolution. Opening yourself up to deeper connections may also help to anchor (and reward!) you in your healing process.
Virgo
Your creative process has been undergoing a transformation over the past several years. What inspires you now should be more in alignment with who you are becoming, and therefore what you create is a refection of your true self. This is the time to start sharing your work and gifts with others, and through that process many doors of opportunity may open themselves to you. Relationships and building connections may be at the forefront of your consciousness this summer. Armed with a refined sense of self-awareness and boundaries, this new season can bring in many people that will test how far you have come in relating to others. Remember to stay true to your authentic self and protect your energy as you navigate new spaces and faces.
Libra
You are entering this new season stepping into a phase of rebirth. Either through a new addition, transition or loss you have been through a lot in your personal, home and family life that has forever changed who you are. After going through so much, and possibly feeling depleted physically and emotionally, you may find that it’s necessary to tend to your health, by refining the routines and rituals that keep your body and life running. Starting slow, by tapping into your intuition for information on what you need is a good start. Pay attention to your dreams. Take lots of time for solitude as you recoup and prepare for the exciting changes coming that are centered around creativity, self-expression, healing and love.
Scorpio
The ways that you think and communicate are under construction. You may have experienced recent situations that have changed your perspective on many things. If you are feeling thrown off course, as even your immediate surroundings may have lost their sense of familiarity, try your best to find grounding in the understanding that sometimes things need to change. You may be emerging from a phase where protecting your peace has been a priority, but you cannot heal in isolation. Your greatest gifts involve going deep and facing fear. Sometimes breaking out of our shells can feel scary or vulnerable, but this summer the medicine is to find empowerment in experiencing joy. Tapping into pleasure and creativity this season will help you reconnect with yourself, and you will find meaning in experiences that open you up, even when you want to close yourself off.
Sagittarius
The things that you once thought were important may have turned out not to be. The standards you used to set for yourself may have also changed in tandem with this new awareness. This summer there is an invitation to be softer with yourself, and turn off that inner critic that may be telling you that you don’t have enough or that you are not enough. You may feel the call to revamp your home space, nest or even build an alter to connect with ancestors to feel safer and more secure as you tap more into what “home” means to you. Or, you may even move to a new place entirely that feels more in alignment and supportive of who you are now. Attachment to material success may be challenged, and inspiration will have to come from deep within you.
Capricorn
This summer sees a culmination of a transformation process that has been underway for quite some time. Whether on the inside or the outside (or both!) you are not who you were even a year ago. Many things may have contributed to this evolution, but your shift in perspective and the way that you think have been unraveling threads of unconscious needs that have been bubbling to the surface to be revealed. The idea of putting the new you on display for the world to see could feel vulnerable, but you are meant to be seen in this moment. No matter how scary it may seem, stepping into your personal power is a process and you have fought hard to be where you are today. This is your time to shine.
Aquarius
You have been undergoing a transformative process of death and rebirth this past year, and this summer finds you at the final boss level of mastering all of the ways in which you have historically gotten in your own way. You are finally tapping into your personal power, and a part of that process has been getting to the core of your personal and generational wounds. Staying focused and committed to your healing process is the key that will continue to unlock many doors of opportunity for the new you to step through. This moment is setting you up for finally building the world that you desire, and any tests or limitations that find their way to you this season are reminders to open yourself up to new levels of self-love and self-acceptance. Be proud of who and where you are. For you in this moment, the journey is the destination.
Pisces
Your hopes and visions for the future are undergoing a transformation. What you thought you once wanted is in the rear view, and even if you don’t quite know where you are headed yet, recent changes and upheavals have occurred to bring you more in alignment with where you are meant to be going. This summer, remember that community is key. Pisces loves to merge with others, and learning from experiences where you can lose yourself in co-creation may be just the connection to self and Spirit you are looking for. New friends and lovers may hold the keys for inspiration as you correct course. Your healing process is to go with the flow and trust that the Universe has your back.

Step Into Spring
The Sun enters the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries on 3/19, marking the Spring Equinox and the Zodiacal New Year. We transition into this new season with all planets direct, giving us the green light to initiate change in any areas of life that have become stagnant or that we have outgrown. Winter reminds us of the importance of death in the cycle of life, and spring greets us with a sense of renewal as we are now able to fill the dead space with new growth. We engage in the tradition of “spring cleaning”, a ritual of release and clearing out, so we can invite new energy and experiences into our lives.
As spring begins, we are working with the potent energy of our first eclipse season of 2024. As we know, eclipse seasons can be chaotic. But the sense of chaos that we feel can be a result of our resistance to change. Change can spark fear within us, and sometimes our instincts may be to tighten our grip on whatever may be anchoring us in our present way of being. The past can be a comfort, but Aries season awakens us to the reality that we are here to take action and experience life with a sense of boldness, creativity and purpose that reflects our unique sense of self in the present moment. Cardinal energy doesn’t need a plan or a map, as it prioritizes the journey over the destination. My midheaven is ruled by Aries, and once I stepped out of my comfort zone, with no plan, things weirdly came together. You can’t know courage unless you face fear. The North Node in Aries wants us all to embrace this truth.
This spring also brings the beginning of a new Jupiter cycle, as the “greater benefic” will enter Gemini this May for the first time in 12 years. Jupiter is the planet that can bring forth opportunities for expansion, growth, healing, and wisdom. Prior to Jupiter entering Gemini, it will conjunct the planet Uranus as it exits the realm of Taurus. Uranus is the planet of abrupt or shocking change, unconventionality, disruption, liberation, innovation, freedom, and the future. It is associated with electricity and its energy can hit like a bolt of lightning. Uranus was the first planet discovered after Saturn was believed to be the outermost planet and boundary of our solar system. With the invention of the telescope, we found new territory to explore. If Saturn represents limits and boundaries, Uranus is all about breaking them. Fun fact-the week Uranus started opposing my 4th House moon from my 10th House, my bedroom ceiling caved in out of nowhere and my life changed forever.
The Tarot card that corresponds to Uranus is The Fool. In the Tarot the “Fool’s journey to enlightenment” is a metaphor for our spiritual development and growth. The classic Pamela Colman Smith depiction of The Fool has the image of a person with a very small bindle embarking on a journey, albeit very close to a cliff. This reminds us that everytime we choose to do something new we are taking a risk. There is not much packed in their bindle, and they have a companion at their side to bear witness to their journey. The Fool reminds us that we can't always be prepared for change, and in order to step into our new selves, roles, or paths; we need an openness to learning that only comes from a relinquishing of control.
Sometimes our world building creates a protective barrier that prevents us from experiencing other perspectives and realities that we need to integrate into our being. Uranus wants us to challenge the status quo, even if that status quo is one we created for ourselves. This spring is a time for reinvention, realignment, and renewal. So take a deep breath and embrace who you are becoming without fear. If you’d like to look to the Tarot for guidance, shuffle your deck and find The Fool. The card behind The Fool can give you insight into what to leave behind as you embark on this new journey, and the card in front of The Fool can help you identify what energy you need to embody or lean into as you walk this new path.

How I Use Tarot in Therapy
Those familiar with my therapy practice know that I like to balance the “clinical with the mystical”. I value evidence-based practices, but am also aware that these approaches can be limiting or ineffective for some. As we are embracing the very real efficacy of “emerging therapies”, we are understanding the value of tools that have been used for healing and improving quality of life, across time and cultures.
Those familiar with my therapy practice know that I am passionate about balancing “the clinical with the mystical”. I highly value evidence-based practices, but I am also aware that these approaches can be limiting or ineffective for some folks. As we are embracing the very real efficacy of “emerging therapies”, we are gaining an understanding of the value of tools that have been used for healing and improving quality of life, across time and cultures. Healing traditions similar to many currently popularized therapy practices including Internal Family Systems, Psilocybin Therapy and MBCT have been used throughout time by BIPOC and ritualists, and are just now being recognized by Western mental health practitioners for their effectiveness in treating a wide range of mental health diagnoses such as PTSD, anxiety and depression. As a seasoned therapist with over 16 years of post-graduate clinical experience, I have found that traditional therapy *typically* does not place explicit value in the healing power of incorporating the unconscious, creativity, spirituality and other “non-evidence based” methods into mental health treatment.
I love using Tarot with clients, when it is deemed appropriate, as an additional processing tool and effective way to track progress and shifts in perspectives over the course of treatment. Here are some ways that I have found Tarot to have value in the therapy space.
The Benefits of Incorporating Tarot into Your Healing Journey
Tarot can help to strengthen your relationship with your intuition.
Tarot can help open up new ways of thinking, resulting in motivation to make different choices by confronting us with our unconscious patterns that leave us stuck.
Tarot can help us see things from a different perspective, that otherwise may not have emerged in traditional talk therapy.
Tarot stimulates our brain as we are introduced with newly accessed information that we are then tasked to integrate into our conscious awareness.
Tarot can help us identify and name emerging themes in our lives that we have been striving to access the language for, making uncomfortable feelings harder to avoid and therefore assisting us in making significant breakthroughs.
Tarot can help us piece together aspects of our past, present and future to help us see the bigger picture in moments of chaos or crisis.
Tarot can connect us to our creativity, unconscious, imagination, spirit, and higher self. When all aspects of ourselves are activated, we can take action in our lives with more self-awareness, compassion and intention.
Tarot can help us to “externalize the internal”, which can help us to better sift through our thoughts and emotions. This process can help us to organize them in a way that makes more sense in our conscious minds, so we can then work with this information on a practical level and feel more empowered in navigating the moment we are in.
These are just a few examples as there are so many ways that Tarot can enhance your healing journey!
Can You Use Tarot as a Self-Healing Tool?
Absolutely! Tarot is a great tool to use for self-reflection, when you are working to strengthen your intuition, or to help find new ways to tackle a problem. The first step is to get whatever deck you feel drawn to. Study the cards, get to know them, pull them with friends, note what the imagery is bringing up for you, what symbols are you drawn to? Don’t overemphasize memorization. Take only what resonates from the guidebooks, as this is your practice and there is no “right” or “wrong” way to develop your relationship with the Tarot.
